Rupnagar district has achieved first place in Punjab during the year 2024-25, performing brilliantly in the field of maternal and child health services. On the occasion of the Civil Surgeon Conference held by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Punjab in Chandigarh yesterday, the State Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh facilitated a plaque of honour to Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Swapanjit Kaur for this achievement.

Giving information in this regard, Civil Surgeon Dr. Swapanjit Kaur said that this award has been given on the basis of high performance in the health services provided by the district for mothers and children, vaccination, Janani Suraksha Yojana, nutrition campaign, antenatal services, reduction of maternal and child mortality rate and implementation of child health check-up program.

Dr. Swapanjit Kaur said that this achievement is the result of the joint efforts of all the medical and para medical staff of the health department, ASHA workers, support staff and local organizations. She said that this award is a recognition of the passion, struggle and dedication of our team towards continuous service. She said that we are committed to providing better services for mothers and children in the future as well.

It would also be appropriate to mention here that district Rupnagar has made its individual identity at the state level through its commitment and innovative efforts. With these successes, the morale of the entire team of the health department has increased and the people's trust in the public health system has been strengthened.
