Under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, all-round development work is being carried out in the Bassi Pathana constituency, with no effort spared in making the constituency a model one.
These views were expressed by Bassi Pathana constituency MLA, Mr. Rupinder Singh Happy, while laying the foundation stone for the Sub-Divisional Complex to be constructed at a cost of ₹8.62 crore over approximately 3.54 acres in Bassi Pathana city. The covered area of the complex building will be 27,850 square feet, and the project is expected to be completed within one year.
The MLA stated that the old Sub-Divisional Complex was located inside the city and far from the bus stand, causing inconvenience to the general public in getting their work done. Moreover, the building was old and in poor condition. Therefore, from the very beginning of their government's formation, he prioritized obtaining approval for a new building to house various government offices.
The MLA further shared that the project’s approval had been secured from the government in 2023. Initially, plans were made to construct it at the site of the old building, which would not have been an ideal solution. Hence, it took additional time to get approval for the new location near the bus stand.
The MLA explained that the new complex will house the offices of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, the Tehsildar, the "Fard" center, and various other departmental offices. He mentioned that having different department offices under one roof will make it much easier for people to complete various tasks in one place.
On this occasion, Director of the Labor Welfare Board Raj Puri, Mandi Board Member Inderjit Singh, Market Committee Chairman Manpreet Singh Somal, District President of the Women's Cell Preeti Arora, DSP Raj Kumar, Kashmir Singh, Amrit Bajwa, Arun Kumar, Rajveer Maan (Sarpanch), Davinder Singh, along with other dignitaries and local residents, were present.
