It is only due to our brave soldiers who guard the Nation's borders that we are breathing in the air of freedom and able to sleep peacefully. The Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the District Administration stands shoulder to shoulder with these valiant BSF jawans and assured them of every support and assistance.

These views were expressed by the Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak during his visit to the Simble Sakol check post here today at the Indo - Pak International border. He was accompanied by the DC Aditya Uppal, SSP Daljinder Singh Dhillon, District President BC Wing Naresh Kumar Saini, Block President Rajesh Kumar, Sarpanch Khojki Chak Joginder Pal, Sarpanch Bamiyal Munish alias Chhotu, Commandant BSF Suresh Singh.

The Minister also laid wreath on the memorial of Shaheed Kamaljit Singh.During his address, Mr. Kataruchak divulged that 11 posts of BSF are situated along the Indo - Pak International border in the Pathankot District and the biggest of them all is known by the name of Simble Sakol. The Pakistan border lies 200 Metres away from here.

The salient feature of the post is that during the 1971 war when it was surrounded by the Pakistani soldiers the braveheart Kamaljit Singh didn't left it and faced the enemy courageously eventually attaining martyrdom.Lambasting Pakistan for the cowardly terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Kataruchak said there is a wave of anger throughout the country which is fully capable of giving a bloody nose to the enemies. The Minister further stated that there is perfect coordination between the Civil Administration and the BSF jawans. He also listened to the issues being faced by the BSF jawans manning these posts and assured to look into the same.

Disclosing further, Mr. Kataruchak added that the Punjab Police is also Eveready to extend all Cooperation to the BSF in order to tackle any possible flare up.

The State Government would soon recruit about 5000 Home Guard jawans who would keep a hawk's eye on drug smuggling activities, said the Minister adding the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has already made this announcement. The Cabinet Minister and other civil & police officers were also felicitated on the occasion.
