Focussing upon sustainable development and ensuring clean environment, Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina launched major cleanliness drive in Ludhiana South constituency from Dholewal chowk on Friday morning.This week-long drives is part of an extensive cleanliness drive launched across the city on Friday.
Accompanied by MC Zonal Commissioner (Zone C) Gurpal Singh, MLA Chhina said that all the wards and major roads of the constituency would be covered under the drive. Wielding a broom herself, MLA Chhina led the cleanliness drive and she also took feedback from the sweepers. MLA Chhina along with senior officials of MC remained in the field for over two hours for monitoring the drive on Friday morning.
MLA Chhina further said that fogging would also be conducting in all the areas and different teams of health branch, B&R branch, O&M cell etc have been deployed under the drive to ensure cleanliness in all aspects. Mechanical sweeping machines have also been deployed to ensure proper cleaning of roads.
Appealing to the public to support the civic body in keeping the city clean, MLA Chhina said that cleanliness drive would also be taken up in green belts/parks across the constituency. MLA Chhina said that the state government led by Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to ensure sustainable development.
She said that the officials have been directed to remain in the field and she would also be monitoring the cleanliness drive on a regular basis.
