Punjab Sikhya Kranti is bringing tremendous changes to elevate the educational standards of government schools, resulting in parents preferring to enroll their wards in government schools over privates ones, said Cabinet Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar after inaugurating development projects worth around Rs.2.67 crore across various government schools in the Patti Assembly constituency.Addressing the gathering, the Cabinet Minister said that this growing trend towards government schools is a direct result of the Sikhya Kranti initiated by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government.

He said that the Mann government is transforming government schools and strengthening their basic infrastructure to provide better education to students. This ensures that children in government schools can receive quality education comparable to private schools and succeed in competitive examinations.S. Bhullar said that due to the Punjab government's efforts, the Sikhya Kranti has initiated a historic transformation in the state's 12,000 government schools. The Aam Aadmi Party's Punjab government has made history by increasing the education budget by 12 percent for the first time in the state's history.

He added that the government has recruited around 20,000 teachers to address faculty shortages in government schools. He further said that due to the anti-education policies of previous dispensations, government schools had deteriorated significantly, leading people to prefer private schools for their children. However, since the Aam Aadmi Party government took office, education and health sectors have been prioritized, resulting in comprehensive development. Consequently, enrollment in government schools has increased substantially, with parents withdrawing their children from private schools to admit them to government institutions.

The Cabinet Minister inaugurated development projects at Government Elementary School Kiriyan, Government Senior Secondary and Elementary School Harike, Government High School Booh, Government High School Kirtowal Kalan, Government Elementary School Jyoti Shah and Government Elementary School Jorh Singh Wala.

Chairman Dilbag Singh Sandhu, Sarpanch Iqbal Singh Sidhu Harike, Sarpanch Gurmej Singh Booh, Pargat Singh Harike, Amrik Singh, Bhupinder Singh Kapre Wale, Resham Singh, Angrez Singh, Paramjit Singh Karir, Paramjit Singh Munim, other Aam Aadmi Party leaders, Education Department officials, school students and parents were present on this occasion.
