The special police squad on Tuesday questioned scores of persons in connection with the militant attack on Border Security Force (BSF) convoy that left nine injured including an Assistant Commandant late last evening.Official sources told GNS that the special team constituted by the police authorities today in connection with the militant strike on BSF in Pampore yesterday. “The team questioned scores of persons regarding the incident”.As reported by GNS, nine Border Security Force personnel including Assistant Commandant were injured when militants attacked BSF convoy on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway near Pampore area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late Monday evening.

A senior BSF official told GNS that the BSF convey was returned back from Chandanwari in Phalgam towards Srinagar Pantha Chowk camp after completing their duty at Amarnath base camp. “On reaching near road junction in Pampore, militants opened heavy fire on a bus, part of convoy from both sides of road taking advantage of high ground at around 09:41 pm”.In the attack, seven BSF men including Assistant Commandant received injuries, the official said.The injured has been identified as Bishan Lal Assistant Commandant of 59 Bn, Constable Sunny Kumar of 59 Bn, Constable Vijay Kumar 59 Bn, Head Constable  Manoj 59 Bn , Constable Saurabh Mukhopdhayay of 59 Bn, constable PN Brade of 59 Bn, Head constable Amarpal Singh (Driver) 151 Bn Bsf.All the injured were immediately shifted to army’s 92 base hospital for treatment, the official said.He said that multiple surgeries were conducted on the Assistant Commandant as he had received two bullet wounds in his arm and shoulder. “The condition of the commandant is improving from today afternoon”.    

A police official told GNS that a case FIR no. 114/2014 under section 307 RPC and 7 /27 IA Act has been registered in this regard and the special team of police launched the investigations.During the initial investigations, it was revealed that the militants who carried the strike were five in number and all the men were masked and were wearing the army uniform, the official said.He said that the militants while taking advantage of darkness have probably crossed the river Jehlum near Pampore and might have reached Rakshuna Tengen area that connects the parts of Budgam and Pulwama including Wathora, Chadoora.He, however, said that two more BSF men got minor injured after the driver of the vehicle lost control over it resulting the mishap as the bus collided with the nearby wall of a building.
