Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, and as part of the ongoing “Punjab Sikhya Kranti” campaign, development projects worth approximately Rs. 1.19 crore, (Constituency Fatehgarh Sahib: 18 Lakh, Bassi Pathana:68 Lakh and Amloh:33 Lakh) carried out in various schools across the district, were dedicated to the public by the MLAs of the district’s three assembly constituencies — Lakhbir Singh Rai, Gurinder Singh Garry Birring

and Rupinder Singh Happy.

While addressing the media, MLAs Gurinder Singh Garry Birring, Lakhbir Singh Rai, and Rupinder Singh Happy stated that the Aam Aadmi Party government, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fulfilling its promise of launching an education revolution in Punjab. Under this transformative initiative, long-pending basic infrastructure needs—neglected for over 75 years—are now being addressed, completely revitalizing the appearance and facilities of government schools across the state.

Since coming to power, the Aam Aadmi Party government has ensured that every government school in Punjab has a boundary wall. Furthermore, 20,000 new teachers have been recruited and 12,700 contractual teachers have been regularized. For the first time in the state’s history, government school teachers have been sent to prestigious national and international institutions for advanced training.

They also highlighted the establishment of nearly 100 ‘Schools of Eminence’ equipped with ultra-modern facilities. A dedicated school bus service has been introduced, currently benefiting 10,000 students, with plans for further expansion. Campus managers, security guards, and watchmen have been appointed to ensure student safety and smooth functioning of school operations.

Large-scale grants have been provided to government schools, which have been effectively utilized to raise academic and infrastructural standards. As a result, Punjab’s government schools are now being recognized as national-level model institutions.

The MLAs also shared updates on progress in other sectors, including: A strong crackdown on drug trafficking, with illegally acquired properties being demolished, Rs. 97,000 crore worth of investments attracted to the state, creating employment for youth, Nearly 800 Aam Aadmi Clinics providing free medical care across Punjab, Restoration of thousands of kilometers of irrigation canals to conserve groundwater and boost agricultural infrastructure,

Formation of the "Sadak Surakhea Force", which reaches accident sites within 12 minutes, reducing road fatalities by 50 percent.

MLAs emphasized that these achievements reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to education, healthcare, safety, and economic development. As a result of these initiatives, parents are now increasingly enrolling their children in government schools over private institutions, leading to a significant rise in student admissions across Punjab. On this occasion, the MLAs also honored meritorious students. In appreciation, school staff members honored the MLAs for their valuable contribution.
