As part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing "Punjab Sikhya Kranti" campaign under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Gurinder Singh Garry Birring, MLA from Amloh constituency, dedicated development works worth approximately Rs. 28 lakhs in five government schools of the region.
These initiatives include the completion of major infrastructure improvements, such as boundary wall repairs and building renovations, at various schools which includes Government Elementary School, Kalal Majra, Government Elementary School, Ghuteend, Government Middle School, Ghuteend, Government Primary School, Salana Dulla Singh Wala and Government Senior Secondary School, Salana Jeevan Singh Wala.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Birring reaffirmed the government's commitment to transforming Punjab’s education infrastructure. “For 75 years, the basic needs of government schools were neglected. Our government is now actively addressing these gaps with a strong focus on quality education,” he said.
He also highlighted several key achievements under the campaign: Recruitment of 20,000 new teachers, Regularization of 12,700 contractual teachers, Establishment of around 100 ultra-modern "Schools of Eminence", Introduction of free bus service benefitting over 10,000 students, Appointment of campus managers, security guards, and watchmen, Internet and Wi-Fi connectivity in over 17,000 schools.
MLA Birring further emphasized the government's strong stance against drug trafficking, noting that illegal drug networks are being dismantled and illegal properties of smugglers are being destroyed. “Punjab is on its way to becoming a drug-free state,” he added.
On the economic front, the state has attracted investments worth Rs. 97,000 crore, creating extensive job opportunities for the youth. The government has also provided 56,000 government jobs.
In the health sector, around 800 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been launched, offering free medical services to citizens. Major anti-corruption measures have also been implemented, especially in the property registration process.
To promote sustainable agriculture, thousands of kilometers of irrigation canals have been rejuvenated, and a dedicated Road Safety Force has been established, ensuring emergency assistance within 12 minutes in case of road accidents.
