The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has been continuously guarding its commitment to providing the best infrastructure and quality education in government schools of the state for the last three years. With the historic decisions taken by the Punjab government in the field of education, people are taking their children out of private schools and getting them admitted to government schools.
This was expressed by MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai while inaugurating development works worth more than Rs 30 lakh in three schools of the constituency.MLA Rai dedicated to the people the newly built science lab and major repair of the school at Government High School Rajindergarh at a cost of Rs. 16,29,400, the boundary wall at Government Middle School Bhaini Kalan at a cost of Rs. 03,60,000, and the new rooms and boundary wall at Government Primary School Kheri Bhai Ki at a cost of Rs. 10,11,000.
MLA Rai said that the Punjab government has launched the Punjab Sikhea Kranti Campaign to make government schools even better, under which every facility is being provided in the schools. He said that the previous governments completely neglected education and health, but the Aam Aadmi Party government has made both these sectors the main axis of development, and this is the reason why government schools of Punjab are today leaving private schools behind in terms of education systems and facilities.
MLA said that in the last three years, a large number of students have left private schools and taken admission in government schools. He said that special attention is being paid to the ultra-modern education system and educational tours to foreign countries to improve the teaching style of school teachers.
Wi-Fi facility, boundary walls around schools, security guards, construction of new classrooms, clean toilets for students, playgrounds, clean drinking water,are now an integral part of the schools. Special attention has been paid towards the regular recruitment of the teachers also.
The MLA appealed to the parents and teachers of the students that maximum children and youth should be associated with sports activities so that the objectives of the war against drugs launched by the government to make Punjab drug-free can be fulfilled.
On this occasion, District Education Officer (Secondary) Sushil Nath, Deputy District Education Officer Didar Singh Mangat, Jagjit Singh Chohalti Kheri, Amarjit Singh Dubhali, Bikar Singh Rajindergarh, Happy Sarpanch Bhainikalan, Office Secretary Bahadar Khan, Harmesh Poonia, and Prahlad Singh, besides a large number of students, parents of students, teachers, and dignitaries, were present.
