All the municipal councillors, ward in-charges, office bearers and volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have resolved to unitedly work for thumping victory of the party’s Ludhiana (West) assembly constituency candidate Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) in the coming byelection.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Acting President Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi and State Secretary Amandeep Singh Mohi at Mini Auditorium, Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, here on Monday. Arora was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the meeting, Sherry Kalsi said the party has chosen Arora in view of his development-oriented approach and hardworking. He said the coming byelection will be held on the basis of development works done by Arora as an MP during the last about there years. He said Arora is a perfect leader who has all the leadership qualities. He said Arora has all the good qualities of a popular leader, adding that notable thing is that Arora is the most honest person.
Adding, Sherry Kalsi narrated policies and programme of the works done by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said the state government has provided more than 50,000 jobs to the unemployed youth and launched several “pro-people” programmes and policies. Now, the state government has launched a massive drive against menace of drug, he said.
Kalsi called upon the partymen to go from door-to-door for campaigning in favour of Sanjeev Arora. He categorically stated that now everyone has to come out of comfort zone and work hard for Arora with a big margin. He said everyone knows that Arora’s victory is confirm but this victory should be with a big lead.
Rajbir Singh Ghuman, OSD to Chief Minister Punjab also spoke on the occasion. He asked the partymen to work day and night for the victory of Arora who has done a lot for every sector including, health and industry. He said all the partymen should work collectively for ensuring victory of Arora.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Arora all the councilors, ward in-charges, office bearers and all the volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party are the family members for him. He said he is not contesting election alone rather all the partymen are seen contesting election for me.
He too said he is not targeting to win alone but targeting to win with a thick margin of votes.He narrated series of development works done by him as an MP in the last three years. He reiterated his commitment to make Ludhiana as “model city” after winning the election. He said various development works are in progress in the city.
Among others, the party leaders including Amandeep Singh Mohi (Chairman, Markfed), Inderjit Kaur (mayor), Tarsem Singh Bhinder (Chairman, Ludhiana Improvement Trust), Sharanpal Singh Makkar, District President AAP and Chairman, District Planning Board, Rakesh Prashar (senior deputy mayor), Suresh Goyal, Dr Deepak Bansal and Advocate Paramjit Goldy were present on the occasion.
