The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rayat Bahra Dental College and Hospital (RBDCH) celebrated International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (OMFS) Day with enthusiasm.
The event, held under the guidance of Dr Akshey Sharma Principal, Dr Sandeep Garg, Head of the Department, honoured the birth anniversary of Dr Menoo Sorabjee Ginwalla, India’s first oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
The theme of this year’s celebration was “Early Detection and Prevention of Oral Cancer.” Dr Sandeep Garg and Dr Surya Udai Singh gave an awareness talk on identifying early signs and preventing oral cancer.
Faculty and students of RBDCH actively participated, engaging in discussions and learning important facts about oral health.A 3D Model Making Competition showcased students’ creativity in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The competition was judged by Dr Akshey Sharma (Principal, RBDCH) and Dr Deepti Bhatnagar (Professor & HOD, Department of OMDR). The students impressed the judges with their innovative models.
The event ended with a grand oral health awareness march on the university campus wherein faculty members, students and staff participated spreading awareness about oral health.
