The Career Development and Guidance Center (CDGC) of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, successfully organized “Lakshay”, an exclusive event for SSB (Services Selection Board) aspirants, on 11th February 2025.

This initiative provided a platform for students aspiring to serve in the Indian Armed Forces, offering them invaluable insights and guidance from esteemed military officers. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, graced by Lt. General D.P. Pandey, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

He was joined by the esteemed Director of PEC, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, along with Prof. J.D. Sharma (Head, CDGC), Dr. D.R. Prajapati (Dean of Student Affairs), and other distinguished faculty members.

Following a warm floral welcome, Prof. J.D. Sharma formally greeted the dignitaries and the enthusiastic students in attendance. He encouraged the aspirants to carefully listen and absorb the knowledge being shared, emphasizing the significance of dedication, discipline, and determination in achieving success.

He also highlighted CDGC’s role in career development at PEC. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Bhatia delivered an inspiring address, sharing the legacy of PEC in national defense, particularly during the 1965 war, when PEC produced its first batch of aerospace engineers.

He also proudly mentioned the institute’s illustrious alumni and historic contributions to engineering and defense sectors. Additionally, he welcomed the NCC cadets from various institutions, acknowledging their enthusiasm for attending this transformative event.

He also commended Prof. J.D. Sharma and the entire CDGC team for their commendable initiative in organizing such a significant program. The highlight of the event was the interactive session with Lt. General D.P. Pandey, where he shared first-hand experiences from his distinguished military career.

His insights on leadership, resilience, and perseverance deeply resonated with the students. The session became even more engaging as students posed questions on SSB preparation, army life, and career prospects.

Major General Harvijay Singh further enriched the session, offering valuable perspectives on the life of a defense officer and the journey of serving the nation. His words reinforced the spirit of patriotism, determination, and perseverance among the aspirants.

The event concluded on an inspirational high note, leaving students motivated and well-equipped with knowledge and confidence to pursue their dream of joining the Indian Armed Forces. With such initiatives, PEC continues to serve as a beacon of excellence, guiding young minds towards prestigious careers and instilling a sense of national pride and service among its students.
