A significant and spiritually enriching meeting was held today between Punjab State Food Commission Chairman Mr. Bal Mukand Sharma, his delegation, and Dera Beas Head Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon at Dera Beas. The discussions centered on enhancing nutritional security, sustainable agriculture, and community welfare initiatives.

The delegation included Punjab State Food Commission Member Mr. Chetan Parkash Dhaliwal; President of P.S. Arts and Cultural Society, Chandigarh, Ms. Parveen Sandhu; General Secretary Rajdeep Kaur Multani; Navjot Sandhu; Arshdeep Singh; and Mr. Gaurav Malhotra, an educational institution owner from Australia, along with his wife Mrs. Sandeep Kaur.

Chairman Bal Mukand Sharma emphasized the need to integrate millet-based and nutrient-rich foods into community kitchens to improve public health. He proposed utilizing spices derived from medicinal and herbal plants to enhance dietary quality and urged devotees to promote millet cultivation.

Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon welcomed these suggestions, highlighting their dual benefits: reducing paddy cultivation to conserve groundwater, improving soil health, and advancing nutritional outcomes. He reiterated Dera Beas’s commitment to sustainable practices aligned with these goals. The delegation requested increased circulation of Dera Beas’s spiritually enriching literature, which Baba Ji acknowledged positively.

Ms. Parveen Sandhu, President of P.S. Arts and Cultural Society, presented her debut handwritten book "Maa Da Punarjanam"* to Baba Ji, honoring motherhood. In a heartfelt response, Baba Ji emphasized the irreplaceable role of mothers, sharing that he cares for his 96-year-old mother at Dera Beas.
