Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh today flagged off a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance donated to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda. The Ambulance has been provided by Former BDC Chairman Gundna, Sarshad Nisar Natnoo, under the BDC fund to strengthen emergency medical services in the region.

The initiative aims to enhance patient transportation facilities, ensuring timely medical aid for critical cases. The flag-off ceremony was held in the presence of Principal GMC Dr. Rakesh Bahl, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Om Kumar, and other officials.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the noble gesture, emphasizing the importance of community contribution in improving healthcare infrastructure. He further stated that such initiatives play a crucial role in bridging gaps in emergency response and saving lives, especially in remote areas.

The newly inducted ambulance is equipped with advanced life-saving equipment, including oxygen support, defibrillators, and essential emergency care facilities. This addition is expected to significantly improve pre-hospital care and emergency response for critically ill and accident victims in Doda and adjoining areas.

Principal GMC Dr. Rakesh Bahl expressed gratitude for the endowment, highlighting that the ambulance will aid in efficient patient management, particularly for referrals to tertiary care centers. With this initiative, the district administration reaffirms its commitment to improving healthcare services in Doda.

The administration continues to encourage public participation and collaborative efforts to strengthen the medical infrastructure ensuring quality healthcare reaches every corner of the district.
