As part of the Good Governance Week 2024, the Power Development Department (PDD) on Tuesday conducted an outreach program and awareness camp here at DC Office. The initiative aimed to strengthen the department's engagement with the community, providing timely assistance and information about government schemes.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh interacted with PDD staff and the public, emphasizing the significance of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The scheme, designed to make electricity more affordable, offers subsidies of up to 65%, enabling citizens to slash their electricity bills by 50%.
The DC Doda highlighted the transformative potential of this initiative in improving the quality of life for households and urged people to take full advantage of the scheme. In addition to the awareness drive, citizens were provided with guidance on availing the benefit of the scheme, along with a dedicated help desk to address queries and facilitate enrollment.
The event also underscored the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable energy solutions, ensuring equitable access to resources, and promoting energy conservation practices in the district.
