The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has launched its e-Service Book portal, following the “Digital India” initiative of Government of India, accessible to all force personnel. This new initiative is designed to streamline and expedite the pension processing system for retired CISF personnel.

Sharing information in this regard Senior Commandant, Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat,Chandigarh, Sh. Y.P. Singh said that earlier, delays in the payment of dues on retirement were caused due to physical transfer of service book. The newly launched e-Service Book portal  ensures that CISF personnel receive all pension benefits on their retirement date without any delay. Not only this, the portal will also benefit serving personnel by providing them online access to their service books and ensuring their updation as well.

He further said that the new digital framework eliminates the need for physical transfer of service books. One of the key features of the e-Service Book is its real-time tracking capability. Stakeholders can now monitor the status of pension files in real-time, ensuring transparency and accountability. This will directly benefit approximately 2400 personnel who retire annually.

Presently, the physical transfer of the service book  between multiple offices not only often results in delays and errors but is also time consuming especially for the remote area personnel. To address these issues and ensure timely pension disbursement, a concept of designing an online portal was conceived after incorporating inputs from the concerned CAA (Home), Ministry of Home Affairs, and PAOs/RAPOs, before finalising, he added.

He stated that another major advantage of the e-Service Book portal is that Stakeholders, higher administrative establishments and RPAO/PAOs can all participate seamlessly on a single platform. Sh. Y. P Singh further said besides streamlining the pension process, the e-Service Book empowers serving personnel by providing them with online access to their service books.

This enables them to monitor their service records, identify any discrepancies, and initiate corrective action in a timely manner. By ensuring the accuracy and completeness of service records, the e-Service Book helps serving personnel effectively plan their career progression and retirement benefits.

He stated that the CISF e-Service Book is a significant step towards modernising the pension processing system and enhancing the service experience of CISF personnel. By providing more efficient, transparent, and convenient services, CISF aims to set new standards in service delivery.
