Why Did Maharashtra Deputy Speaker Jump From The Third Floor In Protest?
This incident took place at the Maharashtra Secretariat today, on October 4, 2024, when Assembly Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal jumped down from the third floor in protest.
Zirwal along with two other tribal MLAs have protested against the inclusion of the Dhangar community in the Scheduled Tribe category. The Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly is protesting against giving reservations to the Dhangar community from the ST quota.
In a video posted by news agency ANI, it can be seen that the three MLAs are trapped in the security net, and after that they climb back into the Secretariat building, the administrative headquarters of the Maharashtra government in Mumbai.
