Delivering the promise of construction of Pakka Houses to the eligible people under the PMAY scheme, Punjab Minister Anmol Gagan Mann disbursed a Sanction letter worth 1.20 Crore to 100 beneficiaries at Majri Block on Tuesday. Addressing the gathering, she said that  Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led the Punjab Government working honestly towards the welfare of people and the benefits of all the schemes chalked out for their benefit would be given diligently to each and every eligible person.

She said that the beneficiaries found eligible for PMAY would be given the total amount in three instalments, today they would get the first instalment of Rs 30,000 for starting construction, the second instalment of Rs 72,000 at Lintel level and the third and last instalment of Rs 18,000 on completion. Apart from that the beneficiaries who also happened to be MGNREGA job card holders would get an additional wages up to 90 days of Rs 28980 for making contribution to the construction.

She further said that though the Centre Government had halted the funds amounting to Rs 10,000 meant for the development of the state but the state government is committed to providing the residents with all the basic amenities like roads, drinking water etc. She said that the roads of the area would be constructed soon and people need not worry.

Exhorting the residents to choose honest and dedicated representatives during Panchayat Elections, she said that we need such people for the overall development of the villages. She also appealed to opt for the unanimous decision to get the Rs 5 lakh grant to such village panchayats as announced by Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann earlier.

Cabinet Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Investment Promotion, Labour and Hospitality, Mrs Anmol Gagan Mann also distributed grants worth 22 lakh to 11 villages for development purposes. She said that the beneficiaries who could not get sanction letters today should not lose hope as the number of applications are under process and all eligible people must be covered under the scheme.

Others who were present on this occasion included SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh, BDPO Majri Gurminder Singh and Sarpanch Majri Jagdeep Rana and other prominent persons in the area.
