This health program run by the Government of India is known as Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Launched with the aim of leaving no one behind, Ayushman Bharat Yojana aims to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Universal Health Coverage (UHC). 

All three levels of healthcare  primary, secondary, and tertiary come under this program. This scheme covers all stages of promotion, disease prevention and ambulatory care. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Health and Wellness Centers are two initiatives of the program.

Benefits Of Ayushman Bharat Card

The benefit coverage provided by India's state-funded health insurance systems is divided among various states, with annual coverage ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 3,00,000 per family. Apart from this, Ayushman Bharat also provides cashless coverage for secondary and tertiary care conditions up to Rs 5,00,000 per year to all eligible families. Some other benefits are also listed below.

1. Medical tests and care and advice

2. Medicines and supplies for medical use

3. Services for both non-intensive and intensive care

4. Laboratory and diagnostic examinations

5. Accommodation benefits

6. Proper food services

7. Follow-up care for up to fifteen days after hospitalization in case of complications arising during the medical treatment

One or more family members can avail benefits up to Rs 5,00,000 as they are provided on a family floater basis.

Key Features Of Ayushman Bharat Card

Ayushman Bharat Mission focuses on the largest programs for health insurance and assurance worldwide, under this Ayushman Bharat, PM-JAY scheme is funded by the government. Features of Ayushman Card:-

1. This scheme provides coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year on secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to both public and private families in India.

2. Under this scheme, about 12 crore families who come from the underprivileged and vulnerable sections or more than 55 crore beneficiaries can avail the benefits of this scheme.

3. PM-JAY beneficiaries are provided cashless service for medical care in the hospital.

4. The objective of PM-JAY is to reduce the staggering medical expenses, which pushes about 6 crore people of India into poverty.

5. There is no restriction of any kind on family size, age or gender in this scheme.

6. All pre-existing conditions are covered under this plan from the very beginning.

7. The services under this plan include around 1929 procedures, which include all types of expenses related to the treatment.
