A grand pilgrimage site will be constructed at 'Rakasan', the birthplace of Lord Parshuram located in Nawanshahr assembly constituency. This announcement was made by Union Tourism and Cultural Minister Sh.Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in a grand program held at 'Rakasan' on Thursday. Shekhawat said that when Dr. Subhash Sharma told him about this historical place, he himself decided to pay obeisance here. 

He told that Lord Parshuram is revered by the entire society. This historical place will be made a big center of culture and tourism. He said that Punjab has a huge cultural heritage & Modi government is committed to save it. Shekhawat said that foreign invaders attacked and hatched conspiracies to harm Sanatan Dharma and Indian culture, but our culture and religion are still alive. This is proof that Sanatan Dharma is an eternal truth.

Speaking on the occasion, former state president of Punjab BJP Ashwani Sharma said that today it is a matter of happiness for every punjabi that the birthplace of Lord Parshuram ji will become a grand pilgrimage soon. Thanking Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for this, he said that he is happy that the efforts made by Dr. Subhash Sharma have borne fruit.

Punjab BJP Vice President Dr. Subhash Sharma said in his address that while contesting the loksabha elections from Sri Anandpur Sahib, he had promised that a grand pilgrimage site under union government’s prasad scheme will be constructed at 'Rakasan', the birthplace of Lord Parshuram ji has been fulfilled. Dr.Sharma thanked the union minister Sh.Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for accepting his request.

In the program, Brij Ras Anuragi Purnima Ji (Poonam Didi) of Vrindavan Dham enthralled the devotees with her bhajans. On this occasion, senior preachers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Pramod Kumar, Ram Gopal and a large number of saints also arrived to give their blessings. 

Former Union Minister Somprakash, former State Minister Tikshan Sood, Durgesh Pathak,District President Sanjeev Vashisht, Rajvinder Lucky, Sushil Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Nipun Sharma, Nimisha Mehta, Parminder Sharma, Jatindra Atwal, Sukhminder Goldy, Poonam Manik, Vishal Sharma, Rajeev Sharma Mana, Avinash Sharma, Shekhar Shukla, Devi Dayal & others participated enthusiastically.
