The Chandigarh Administration convened the 23rd meeting of Chandigarh Heritage Conservation Committee (CHCC) under the Chairmanship of Sh. Rajeev Verma, Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh. Present in the meeting were Smt. Anindita Mitra, Secretary Urban Planning -cum- Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Sh. Vinay Partap Singh, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Estate Officer, Sh. Ajay Chagti, Secretary Local Government, Smt. Hargunjit Kaur, Finance Secretary, Sh. Hari Kallikat, Secretary Culture, alongwith Chief Engineer, Chief Architect and engineers from the Archaeological Survey of India. 

Technical experts of the CHCC, Mr. Rajnish Wattas, Mr. Mac Sarin, Mr. IC Syal, Mr. Dilmeet Grewal were also present. The genesis of the CHCC, its constitution and mandate were apprised to the Chairman by the Chief Architect, UT, which was followed by presentations on different projects. 

Discussion was held on the management of the Capitol Complex and review of different projects, including the Martyrs Memorial, was done. Proposals were principally approved by the Committee. 

The proposal of ‘Street for People’ in Sector 15 under the MoHUA scheme was also approved. The Chairman appreciated the Master Plan of the Panjab University for making a uniform plan keeping in view the historical significance of Panjab University. 

He gave directions for strict implementation of the guidelines of the Government of India and the planning management, while executing the projects.

चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन ने श्री राजीव वर्मा, प्रशासक के सलाहकार, यूटी चंडीगढ, की अध्यक्षता में चंडीगढ़ विरासत संरक्षण समिति (सीएचसीसी) की 23वीं बैठक बुलाई बैठक में श्रीमती अनिंदिता मित्रा, सचिव शहरी नियोजन-सह-आयुक्त, नगर निगम, श्री विनय प्रताप सिंह, उपायुक्त-सह-संपदा अधिकारी, श्री. अजय चगती, सचिव स्थानीय निकाय, श्रीमती हरगुनजीत कौर, वित्त सचिव, श्री हरि कल्लिकट, संस्कृति सचिव, मुख्य अभियंता, मुख्य वास्तुकार और भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण के इंजीनियरों के साथ उपस्थित थीं। 

सीएचसीसी के तकनीकी विशेषज्ञ श्री रजनीश वत्स, श्री मैक सरीन, श्री आईसी सयाल, श्री दिलमीत ग्रेवाल भी उपस्थित थे। मुख्य वास्तुकार, यूटी द्वारा अध्यक्ष को सीएचसीसी की उत्पत्ति, इसके संविधान और जनादेश से अवगत कराया गया, जिसके बाद विभिन्न परियोजनाओं पर प्रस्तुतियां दी गईं। 

कैपिटल कॉम्प्लेक्स के प्रबंधन पर चर्चा हुई और शहीद स्मारक समेत विभिन्न परियोजनाओं की समीक्षा की गयी. प्रस्तावों को मुख्यतः समिति द्वारा अनुमोदित किया गया। MoHUA योजना के तहत सेक्टर 15 में 'स्ट्रीट फॉर पीपल' के प्रस्ताव को भी मंजूरी दी गई। 

चेयरमैन ने पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी के ऐतिहासिक महत्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए एक समान योजना बनाने के लिए पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी के मास्टर प्लान की सराहना की। उन्होंने परियोजनाओं के क्रियान्वयन में भारत सरकार के दिशा-निर्देशों एवं योजना प्रबंधन का कड़ाई से पालन करने के निर्देश दिये।
