In continuation of the ongoing awareness campaign against drugs, a 15-day football tournament named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji Football Cup was inaugurated in Mohali by District SAS Nagar Police, yesterday. Inaugurating the sports event at the local Paragon Senior Secondary School, DIG Rupnagar Nilambri Jagdale said that as per the commitment of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and further special drive being launched as per the directions of DGP Gaurav Yadav, this football cup is being inaugurated with a message to make Punjab drug-free and engage youth in sports.
With participation from over 100 villages and the slogan of One Village One Team, the tournament will make our youth partners in the crusade against drugs, she added further. Deputy Inspector General Jagdale further said that the tournament would convey the message; Say No to Drugs, Yes to Sports and Life and youths of about 200 villages would be mobilized to take part in the tourney. The league would continue for two weeks.
SSP Dr Sandeep Garg said that as an awareness part of the crusade against drugs, this Football Tournament would be helpful to engage a large number of youth in sports. He said that a short format of the game has been devised that would be of 20 minutes based on the Six Members team.
Till now, over 100 villages have been engaged with the tournament and we hope we will easily meet the target of 200, he further said. He said that starting from sub-divisional level matches it would be summed up to district level competition after conducting quarter-final, semi final and final matches.
He said that we are committed to helping the drug victims to come out of the habit while putting the smugglers behind bars. He said that all are solicited to eradicate the menace of drugs to build a drug-free society.
Member Punjab Trader’s Commission, Vineet Verma also graced the occasion.
SP (Headquarters) Tushar Gupta added that all the participating players would be given T-shirts with a printed slogan of ‘Nasha Mukat Punjab’ apart from prizes at the district level. The first match was played between teams of Mohali and Kurali while the second friendly match was played between SAS Nagar Police and Press. In the first match, Mohali beat Kurali by 4-0 while in a friendly match Police team led by 11-0.
A cultural program was performed where three renowned Punjabi singers performed in front of people, and they also spread awareness among people against the use of drugs to further advance the campaign of “Nasha Mukt Punjab”.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ. ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਲਈ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਅਧੀਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ 15 ਰੋਜ਼ਾ, ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਫੁਟਬਾਲ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਪੈਰਾਗੌਨ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡੀ.ਆਈ.ਜੀ. ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਰੇਂਜ ਨੀਲਾਂਬਰੀ ਜਗਦਲੇ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਲਾਈ ਗਈ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਮਾਜ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਸਮਾਜ ਬਣੇਗਾ।
ਡੀ.ਆਈ.ਜੀ. ਨੀਲਾਂਬਰੀ ਜਗਦਲੇ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਲਹਿਰ ਚਲਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਇਹ ਫੁਟਬਾਲ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰੀਬ 100 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 100 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਲਈ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਸੰਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਲਈ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਤਮਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਤਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੀੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਇਹ ਫੁਟਬਾਲ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮੀ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਡਾ. ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਤੂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਬਤਾ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਹਿਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਅਮਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਤਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਦਾ ਖਾਤਮਾ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੇਣ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਟ੍ਰੇਡਰਜ਼ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵਿਨੀਤ ਵਰਮਾ, ਐਸ ਪੀ (ਸਥਾਨਕ) ਤੁਸ਼ਾਰ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਐਸ ਪੀ (ਸਿਟੀ) ਹਰਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਟਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਡੀ ਐਸ ਪੀ ਸਿਟੀ ਹਰਸਿਮਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੱਲ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉੱਘੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਗਾਇਕ ਗੁਰਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਸੂਰਾਪੁਰੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ, ਉੱਥੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀਨ ਨੂੰ "ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ" ਸਲੋਗਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਟੀ ਸ਼ਰਟਾਂ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮੈਚ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਤੇ ਕੁਰਾਲੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਦੋਸਤਾਨਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਕਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਾਸੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
