BJP leader and party nominee for the Chandigarh LS seat, Sanjay Tandon ridiculed Congress party for its doublespeak on Agnipath scheme for the armed forces. In a series of meetings and interactions with media persons, Tandon highlighted the contradiction within the Congress ranks regarding the Agnipath scheme.
Tandon pointed out that Chandigarh Congress candidate, Manish Tewari had described Agnipath scheme as “a much-needed reform in the right direction, while noting that the armed forces should not be an employment guarantee programme”.
However, Rahul Gandhi had yesterday junked the scheme and remarked that he would throw it in the dustbin. Tandon emphasized that such conflicting stances from Rahul Gandhi and Manish Tewari reveal a lack of cohesion and consensus on an important national issue like the Agnipath scheme.
Not only this, Rahul was in Panchkula yesterday to address a rally but did not bother to express his support for Manish Tewari, Tandon pointed out. “This absence of solidarity further highlights the disarray within the Congress party regarding critical matters of national security,” remarked Tandon.

भाजपा उम्मीदवार संजय टंडन ने आरोप लगाया कि अग्निपथ योजना पर कांग्रेस दोहरे मापदंड अपना रही है, जोकि विरोधाभासी है। टंडन ने आरोप लगाया कि सशस्त्र बलों की मजबूती के लिए भाजपा द्वारा शुरू की गई अग्निपथ योजना का कांग्रेस ने मजाक उड़ाया था। यही नहीं राहुल गांधी और कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी मनीष तिवारी के अग्निपथ योजना पर रूख विरोधाभासी है।
मीडिया से बातचीत करते हुए संजय टंडन ने कहा कि कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार मनीष तिवारी ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा सशस्त्र बलों की सुरक्षा को मजबूत करने के लिए शुरू की गई अग्निपथ योजना को सही दिशा में एक जरूरी सुधार करार दिया था। वहीं राहुल गांधी ने हरियाणा दौरे के दौरान चुनावी रैली में अग्निवीर योजना पर टिप्पणी करते हुए इसे कूड़ेदान में फेंकने का ऐलान किया था।
टंडन ने राहुल गांधी पर तंज कसते हुए कहा कि राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा पर कांग्रेस गंभीर नहीं है। यही नहीं राहुल गांधी और तिवारी का अग्निपथ योजना पर रूख विरोधाभासी है, राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के मुद्दे पर कांग्रेस का एकमत न होना यह दर्शाता है कि देश के सशस्त्र बलों को ताकत देने की बजाय कमजोर करना है।
टंडन ने तिवारी पर तंज कसा कि राहुल गांधी चंडीगढ़ से सटे पंचकूला में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में हिस्सा लेने पहुंचे, लेकिन चंडीगढ़ में तिवारी के चुनाव प्रचार करने से किनारा किया, इससे साबित होता है कि कांग्रेस आलाकमान को पता चल गया है कि चंडीगढ़ में तिवारी की हार निश्चित है।
