Thousands of Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party workers today joined INDIA bloc candidate Manish Tewari during his padyatra ahead of filing the nomination papers from Chandigarh parliamentary constituency. As a commitment towards his resolve to preserve and safeguard the constitution of the country, Tewari carried a copy of the Constitution of India along.
He pointed out, it was the same very Constitution that has given every Indian the right to vote or contest an election. He said, it was an irony that the same constitution, which has given the people of the country the freedom to elect their representatives and governments, was being threatened by the same people who were getting elected because of the rights conferred by the same constitution.
In order to avoid inconvenience to the public, Tewari decided not to hold any public roadshow before filing his nomination papers. He met his supporters at Sector 17 before he proceeded towards the Deputy Commissioner cum Returning Officer’s office to file his nomination papers.
He was accompanied by the Chandigarh Congress president HS Lucky, the AAP Chandigarh Co-incharge SS Ahluwalia, Chairman of the Chandigarh AAP Campaign Committee, Chandermukhi Sharma, Chandigarh Mayor Kuldeep Kumar, SP Chandigarh president Vikram Yadav and others.
There was unprecedented enthusiasm among his supporters who had gathered to greet and wish him before he proceeded to file the nomination papers. The supporters were singing and dancing to the beats of drums.
Some lady supporters were seen driving a tractor also.
Later during an informal conversation with reporters after filing his nomination papers, when asked the purpose of carrying a copy of the constitution along, Tewari said, the purpose was to convey a clear and categorical message to everyone that this constitution will not be allowed to be changed or replaced.
Pointing towards his supporters who were dancing to the sound of drum beats, he said, the festival of democracy that everyone is celebrating and participating in, today is because of this constitution and it is very much under threat. “I wanted to reiterate and reaffirm my resolve that come what may, the constitution will not be allowed to be changed or replaced at any cost and that is the message”, he asserted.
To another question about his challenge to his BJP opponent for a debate, Tewari reiterated that Tandon was hiding behind the bushes. “Even today, he has asked me to list my achievements in Ludhiana and Sri Anandpur Sahib and that is precisely what I have been telling him (Tandon) to come and ask me as many questions as he wants, but he is afraid and is running away”, he pointed out.
The INDIA bloc candidate thanked thousands of Congress, AAP and SP workers for their unprecedented and overwhelming support. He said he was touched by the love the people had showered on him by travelling from different parts of the city to join his route march ahead of filing the nomination papers.

ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਸੀਟ ਤੋਂ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਮਨੀਸ਼ ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਕਰਨ ਮੌਕੇ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ, ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਵਾਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਵਰਕਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਪੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਏ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਹਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਾਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਜਾਂ ਚੋਣ ਲੜਨ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਵਿਡੰਬਨਾ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਚੁਣਨ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦੌਲਤ ਉਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਚੁਣੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਨੇ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਨਤਕ ਰੋਡ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ-ਕਮ-ਰਿਟਰਨਿੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਵਧਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸੈਕਟਰ 17 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਐਚ.ਐਸ.ਲੱਕੀ, ‘ਆਪ’ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਸਹਿ-ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਆਹਲੂਵਾਲੀਆ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਚੰਦਰਮੁਖੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਮੇਅਰ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਸਪਾ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਿਕਰਮ ਯਾਦਵ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ। ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਮਰਥਕ ਢੋਲ ਦੀ ਥਾਪ 'ਤੇ ਨੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਕੁਝ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਟਰੈਕਟਰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੈਰ ਰਸਮੀ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਪੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਢੋਲ ਦੀ ਥਾਪ 'ਤੇ ਨੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ 'ਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਦੀ ਬਦੌਲਤ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ 'ਚ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕੀਮਤ 'ਤੇ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਿਸ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਸਵਾਲ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ, ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਨੇ ਦੁਹਰਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਟੰਡਨ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਟੰਡਨ) ਨੂੰ ਇਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਇੰਡੀਆ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ, ਆਪ ਅਤੇ ਸਪਾ ਵਰਕਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਲ ਮਾਰਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਹਨ।

चंडीगढ़ लोकसभा सीट से इंडिया गठबंधन की उम्मीदवार मनीष तिवारी द्वारा आज अपना नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने के अवसर पर निकल गई पदयात्रा में हजारों कांग्रेस, आम आदमी पार्टी और समाजवादी पार्टी के कार्यकर्ता शामिल हुए।इस दौरान देश के संविधान को सुरक्षित रखने के अपने संकल्प के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता के रूप में तिवारी भारत के संविधान की एक प्रति साथ लेकर गए।
उन्होंने कहा कि यह वही संविधान है, जिसने हर भारतीय को वोट देने या चुनाव लड़ने का अधिकार दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह एक विडंबना है कि जिस संविधान ने देश के लोगों को अपने प्रतिनिधि और सरकार चुनने की आजादी दी है, उसी संविधान को उन्हीं लोगों से खतरा है जो उसी संविधान द्वारा दिए गए अधिकारों के कारण चुने जा रहे हैं।
इस दौरान लोगों को असुविधा से बचाने के लिए तिवारी ने नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने से पहले कोई सार्वजनिक रोड शो नहीं करने का फैसला किया। जिन्होंने नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने के लिए डिप्टी कमिश्नर-कम-रिटर्निंग ऑफिसर के कार्यालय की ओर बढ़ने से पहले सेक्टर 17 में अपने समर्थकों से मुलाकात की।
इस अवसर पर उनके साथ चंडीगढ़ कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष एच.एस लक्की, आप चंडीगढ़ के सह-प्रभारी एस.एस आहलूवालिया, चंडीगढ़ आप अभियान समिति के चेयरमैन चंद्रमुखी शर्मा, चंडीगढ़ के मेयर कुलदीप कुमार, सपा चंडीगढ़ के अध्यक्ष विक्रम यादव और अन्य लोग थे। नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने से पहले उन्हें बधाई देने के लिए एकत्र हुए उनके समर्थकों में अभूतपूर्व उत्साह था। जहां समर्थक ढोल की थाप पर नाच रहे थे।
कुछ महिला समर्थक ट्रैक्टर भी चलाती नजर आईं।
नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने के बाद पत्रकारों से अनौपचारिक बातचीत के दौरान जब उनसे संविधान की प्रति साथ ले जाने का उद्देश्य पूछा गया, तो तिवारी ने कहा कि इसका उद्देश्य सभी को यह स्पष्ट संदेश देना है कि इस संविधान को बदलने की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी। उन्होंने ढोल की थाप पर नाच रहे अपने समर्थकों की ओर इशारा करते हुए कहा कि लोकतंत्र का त्योहार जिसे हर कोई मना रहा है और जिसमें भाग ले रहा है, आज इस संविधान की वजह से है और यह बहुत खतरे में है।
उन्होंने कहा कि मैं अपने संकल्प को दोहराना और पुष्टि करना चाहता हूं कि चाहे कुछ भी हो जाए, संविधान को किसी भी कीमत पर बदलने की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी और यही संदेश है। भाजपा प्रतिद्वंद्वी को बहस के लिए चुनौती देने के बारे में एक अन्य सवाल के जवाब में, तिवारी ने दोहराया कि टंडन मुद्दों से भाग रहे हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि आज भी, उन्होंने मुझसे लुधियाना और श्री आनंदपुर साहिब में अपनी उपलब्धियों को दर्शाने करने के लिए कहा है और यही वह बात है जो मैं उनसे (टंडन) कह रहा हूं कि वह आएं और मुझसे जितने चाहें उतने सवाल पूछें, लेकिन वे डरे हुए हैं और भाग रहे हैं।
इंडिया गठबंधन के उम्मीदवार ने हजारों कांग्रेस, आप और सपा कार्यकर्ताओं को उनके अभूतपूर्व और भारी समर्थन के लिए धन्यवाद दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने से पहले उनके पैदल मार्च में शामिल होने के लिए शहर के विभिन्न हिस्सों से यात्रा करके लोगों ने उन पर जो प्यार बरसाया है, उसके लिए वह आभारी हैं।
