District Election Officer Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, today met with representatives of the political parties to brief them about the Model Code of conduct and discuss the prescribed procedure for conduct of smooth and transparent electoral process.Additional Deputy Commissioner Kul Bhushan Khajuria, Nodal officer for Model Code of Conduct, briefed the participants about the Model Code of Conduct, emphasizing the need to adhere to ethical campaigning practices.

The District Treasury Officer Qamar Rehman, Nodal officer expenditure monitoring, highlighted the importance of financial transparency in election campaigns. Additionally, District Information Officer Nasir Ahmed, Nodal officer media briefed the political party representatives about the media certification process, emphasizing the role of media in ensuring fair and unbiased coverage of the election process.

The DEO urged the political parties to cooperate with the administration to facilitate free, fair and peaceful elections. He emphasized the need to adherence to the Model Code of Conduct and urged parties to uphold democratic values during the election process.

The meeting was attended by representatives of several political parties and assured their full cooperation in adhering to the guidelines of the MCC and all other norms / guidelines set by the ECI. PO Poshan Mohd Anwar Banday, ACR Anshumali Sharma, Dy. DEO Rakesh Kumar, BDO Reasi and representatives of political parties also present in the meeting.
