Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Coal, Mines & Parliamentary Affairs released “Strategy Papers on Coal Import Substitution” today, at a function in the Ministry of Coal. Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary (Coal) (through VC), Smt. Vismita Tej, Additional Secretary, MoC, Senior Ministry officials, officials of CIL, NLCIL, SCCL) (through VC), were present on the occasion.
Ministry of Coal, taking a step towards achieving energy security in the country and to become Atmanirbhar by ensuring self-sufficiency in coal, has set a vision to curb the import of coal. With this aim, Ministry of Coal had constituted an Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC).
This IMC is chaired by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal and has Members from various Ministries/stakeholders like Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Steel, DPIIT, MSME, Niti Aayog, CCO, Coal companies like CIL and SCCL etc.
“Strategy papers on Coal Import Substitution” has been prepared as a report of the IMC. The paper focusses on the present energy mix of the country, domestic coal production, trends and projections, import trends (sector-wise), coal import substitution measures already taken by the Government and most importantly, the future road map and recommendations of the Committee towards Coal Import Substitution.
The paper delves into the intricate issues, offering insights, strategies and imperative actions to reduce import dependency and enhance domestic production of coal. The paper is available in the Ministry of Coal’s website at https://coal.gov.in.

अंतर-मंत्रालयी समिति की रिपोर्ट में आयात निर्भरता को कम करने और कोयले के घरेलू उत्पादन को बढ़ाने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है

कोयला, खान और संसदीय कार्य मंत्री श्री प्रल्हाद जोशी ने आज कोयला मंत्रालय में आयोजित एक समारोह में "कोयला आयात प्रतिस्थापन रणनीति-पत्र" जारी किया। इस अवसर पर श्री अमृत लाल मीना, सचिव (कोयला) (वीसी के माध्यम से), श्रीमती विस्मिता तेज, अपर सचिव (कोयला), मंत्रालय के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी तथा सीआईएल, एनएलसीआईएल, एससीसीएल के अधिकारी (वीसी के माध्यम से) उपस्थित थे।
देश में ऊर्जा सुरक्षा हासिल करने और कोयले में आत्मनिर्भरता सुनिश्चित करके आत्मनिर्भर बनने की दिशा में कदम उठाते हुए, कोयला मंत्रालय ने कोयले के आयात पर अंकुश लगाने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया है। इसी उद्देश्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए कोयला मंत्रालय ने एक अंतर-मंत्रालयी समिति (आईएमसी) का गठन किया था। इस आईएमसी की अध्यक्ष कोयला मंत्रालय की अपर सचिव हैं और इस समिति में वाणिज्य मंत्रालय, बिजली मंत्रालय, रेल मंत्रालय, पोत परिवहन मंत्रालय, खान मंत्रालय, इस्पात मंत्रालय, डीपीआईआईटी, एमएसएमई, नीति आयोग, सीसीओ, सीआईएल और एससीसीएल जैसी कोयला कंपनियां आदि के प्रतिनिधियों/हितधारकों को सदस्य के रूप में शामिल किया गया था।
कोयला आयात प्रतिस्थापन रणनीति-पत्र" को आईएमसी की एक रिपोर्ट के रूप में तैयार किया गया है। यह रिपोर्ट, देश के वर्तमान ऊर्जा मिश्रण, घरेलू कोयला उत्पादन - रुझान और अनुमान, आयात रुझान (क्षेत्र-वार), सरकार द्वारा पहले से ही उठाए गए कोयला आयात प्रतिस्थापन उपायों और सर्वाधिक महत्वपूर्ण, कोयला आयात प्रतिस्थापन को लेकर भविष्य की रूपरेखा और समिति की सिफारिशों पर केंद्रित है।
यह रिपोर्ट कोयले पर आयात-निर्भरता को कम करने और घरेलू उत्पादन को बढ़ाने के लिए अंतर्दृष्टि, रणनीतियों और अनिवार्य कार्रवाइयों की पेशकश करते हुए जटिल मुद्दों पर प्रकाश डालती है। यह पत्र कोयला मंत्रालय की वेबसाइट https://coal.gov.in पर उपलब्ध है।
