A comprehensive awareness programme on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was chaired by District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan, at the DC Office complex in Reasi. The event, aimed at empowering local artisans, was organised by MSME in collaboration with Industries & commerce department Reasi.

Addressing the gathering, DDC Vishesh Mahajan emphasized the importance of ensuring that no artisans should be left out from getting benefit of all schemes. He instructed Assistant Director IEDS to ensure that collateral are not required for amounts up to 1.50 lakh and to incorporate this into the PM Vishwakarma guidelines.

He urged all eligible beneficiaries to take advantage of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme to improve their socio-economic status. He also assured them of similar initiatives in the future to promote the welfare of artisans and craftsmen in the district.

DDC highlighted the availability of advanced tool kits under the scheme and directed BDOs to monitor implementation of schemes on day to day basis. Pertinent to mention here that 6138 registrations have been completed under the scheme up to date.

DDC Mahajan commended the efforts of the district authorities in facilitating registrations and encouraged them to continue their efforts to achieve more registrations.
