Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that a total of 1260 immigration scammers (Kabootarbaaj) have been arrested by the Special Investigation Teams (SIT) formed to deal immigration fraud in the state. He mentioned that strict action is being taken against immigration scammers (Kabootarbaaj) in the state, if found in indulging such activities.

Sh. Vij redressed the grievances to the people of the state in Ambala today. He emphasized that the SIT formed by them is actively arresting immigration scammers (Kabootarbaaj)  to protect the innocent public from their scams.

The Home Minister highlighted the efforts made by the SIT, stating that the previous SIT arrested 664 immigration scammers (Kabootarbaaj) in its approximately two-and-a-half to three-year term, while the current SIT has arrested a total of 596 immigration scammers (Kabootarbaaj) in its nine-month tenure.

He emphasized that the Cabinet recently approved the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Travel Agents Bill, 2024 to address fraudulent activities related to immigration, especially involving corrupt travel agents from Punjab and Haryana.

In another issue, Sh. Vij directed the Police Commissioner of Faridabad to take action in cases related to dowry despite complaints not being addressed. He also instructed the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Sirsa to investigate a case of fraud involving a promise of employment. Furthermore, the Home Minister directed an investigation into cases of fraud related to job placement in Bhiwani, fraudulent activities in Hisar, and fraudulent practices in sending people abroad for lakhs of rupees.

In a case of murder reported from Hisar, Sh. Vij directed the SP of Hisar to take action since the complainant alleged no action had been taken despite filing a complaint with the police. Similar instructions were given in a case where a person complained about fraudulent practices related to salary non-payment, water contamination in Sai Bagh, and sending money abroad under the guise of sending people overseas. On this occasion, including DSP Aashish Choudhary, DSP Anil Kumar, Mandal Pradhan Kiran Pal Chauhan, Jasbir Jassi, Sudarshan Sahgal, Ravi Choudhary, were present.
