Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today met the family members of the deceased and other affected victims of the fire that occurred at Jharmajri in Barotiwala industrial area. Expressing deep condolences with the families of those who lost their life in the blaze, the Chief Minister directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to them.
He also met the families of those missing since the incident and consoled them and paid visit to the hospital to inquire about the well-being of the injured. "The state government stands strongly with the affected families in this hour of grief and it is our responsibility to provide all possible assistance and relief to them", said Sh. Sukhu.
The Chief Minister also visited the incident site and took detailed information from the officers and gave necessary directions. While interacting with the media, the Chief Minister said that the cause of massive fire was being investigated and added that necessary amendments would be made in the law after consulting all stakeholders in order to ensure that such incidents do not happen again. He said that an FIR has also been registered and strict action would be taken against the defaulters.
The Chief Minister said that Rs. 6.5 lakh each would be given to the families of the deceased. The injured have been provided Rs 5,000 each as immediate relief and besides, financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 per person would be provided soon. The State Government has so far distributed Rs. 3.05 lakh as relief to the affected families.
He added that smart metering and laying underground electric cables in industrial belts would also be considered.Five people died in the unfortunate incident and one body is yet to be identified. Five were still missing. A total of 37 persons were injured in the fire incident, out of which 13 injured have been discharged from the hospital after treatment.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Chaudhary Ram Kumar, MLA K.L Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma were present on the occasion amongst others.

मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने आज जिला सोलन के औद्योगिक क्षेत्र बरोटीवाला के झाड़माजरी में एक निजी कंपनी में आग लगने की घटना का मौके पर जाकर निरीक्षण किया तथा मृतकों के परिजनों के प्रति गहरी संवेदनाएं प्रकट कीं। उन्होंने अधिकारियों से आग लगने की घटना के बारे में विस्तार से जानकारी ली और आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश भी दिए। उन्होंने जिला प्रशासन को प्रभावितों को हरसंभव सहायता पहुंचाने के निर्देश दिए।
ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू लापता व्यक्तियों के परिजनों से भी मिले और उन्हें ढांढस बंधाया। उन्होंने कहा ‘‘आप चिंता न करें, राज्य सरकार दुख की इस घड़ी में आपके साथ पूरी मजबूती के साथ खड़ी है और हर संभव सहायता उपलब्ध करवाई जाएगी’’।पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने आग लगने की घटना पर दुःख प्रकट करते हुए कहा कि प्रशासन द्वारा घटना की जांच की जा रही है और सभी पहलुओं का गहन विश्लेषण किया जाएगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि भविष्य में ऐसी घटना दोबारा न हो, इसके लिए फैक्टरी प्रबंधकों के साथ बात कर कानून में आवश्यक बदलाव किया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इस मामले में एफआईआर दर्ज कर जांच की जा रही है और दोषियों के विरुद्ध कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि औद्योगिक क्षेत्रों में स्मार्ट मीटरिंग तथा बिजली की तारों को अंडरग्राउंड करने पर भी विचार किया जाएगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि घायलों को पांच-पांच हजार रुपये की त्वरित राहत राशि दी गई है तथा उन्हें कुल 50-50 हजार रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी। इसके अतिरिक्त मृतकों के परिजनों को भी कुल साढ़े छः लाख रुपये प्रति परिवार की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी। ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने कहा कि इस दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण घटना में 5 लोगों की मौत हुई है। एक शव की पहचान की जा रही है, जबकि पांच व्यक्ति अभी भी लापता हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि इस घटना में 37 व्यक्ति घायल हुए थे, जिनमें से 13 घायलों को उपचार के बाद अस्पताल से छुट्टी मिल गई है। अब तक प्रभावित परिवारों को 3.05 लाख रुपए की राहत राशि प्रदान की जा चुकी है।ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने अस्पताल में उपचाराधीन घायलों का कुशलक्षेम पूछा और उनसे हादसे के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त की।
मुख्यमंत्री ने उन्हें प्रदेश सरकार की ओर से हर संभव सहायता का आश्वासन दिया। इस अवसर पर स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्री डॉ. (कर्नल) धनी राम शांडिल, मुख्य संसदीय सचिव चौधरी राम कुमार, विधायक के. एल. ठाकुर, उपायुक्त मनमोहन शर्मा सहित अन्य गणमान्य तथा अधिकारी उपस्थित थे।
