On the occasion of receiving funds from the Rural Development Fund (RDF), a special ceremony was organized to lay the foundation stone for the Kaleran Link Road from the national highway Banga-Phagwara Road today. Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat participated as the chief guest and laid the foundation stone for the Kaleran Link Road, costing 61 lakhs.

If RDF is released, approximately 8880 km of roads can be constructed in Punjab's villages, but despite this, the Mandi Board is actively involved in development work.Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat assured the people that as soon as the RDF comes from the central government, the construction of all roads will be prioritized.

He emphasized that the Mandi Board is focusing on strengthening the economic position by installing ATMs and UniPole in mandis, and the Banga Market Committee has organized a carnival during the off-season to utilize the mandi.

He said that other market committees also need to make similar efforts so that the Mandi Board can become financially stronger. He mentioned that the previous governments have drowned Punjab in debt, and recently, the Mandi Board has paid off a debt of 1386 crores taken by the previous government.
