MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora on Wednesday visited Nar Sewa Narain Sewa Helpful NGO Welfare Society Free Dialysis Center where five new machines for Dialysis treatment have been installed.
The NGO president Deepak Garg and others including Sandeep Gupta, Swaran Bansal, Vishal Garg, Ramesh Bansal, Subhash Jindal, Suraj Kumar, Davinder Seth and Pardeep Dhall briefed Arora about achievements of the Center, which was started in October last year.
Arora was told that the new Dialysis machines have been installed at cost of about Rs.80 lakh. Earlier, 15 such machines were installed at cost of about Rs.1.25 crore. The center has treated around 1,500 patients so far. Presently, 12 patients are undergoing treatment at the center.
Further, Arora was apprised that treatment is provided free of cost to all the patients who are coming from various parts of the state. The center has a team of 16 staff members including doctors. Some doctors are also called from private hospitals for rendering their services.
The NGO team also apprised about their certain demands. Including requirement of an ambulance. They also urged upon Arora to intervene in providing more accommodation to the center. They also apprised other activities of the center including donating for fee of the needy students.
On the occasion, Arora lauded the NGO for its services being rendered to the needy and suffering society. He said it is really appreciable that NGO is running center with overwhelming response from donors. Acceding to the demand, he announced to donate an ambulance. Also promised to take up the issues with Punjab Government regarding additional space for more free Dialysis machines.
Arora was also apprised that there is no fire brigade office in the locality. In case of an emergency, fire fighters are to be called from Hamran road. Which is located at a distance. As a result, arrival of fire fighters gets delayed. On this, Arora asked to give him in writing so that he might take up this matter at the state government level.
