To enthrall the residents with the immersive experience of the first SARAS Mela of the district, the district Administration has started the awareness drive today. Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain unveils the poster of the SARAS Mela to invite the residents to the gala event scheduled to be held from February 16 to 25 at Sector 88, Mohali in the presence of ADCs Damanjit Singh Mann and Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary.

Deputy Commissioner Jain said that to make the event successful with the involvement of the residents, the awareness campaign would be run through outdoor media as well as social media. She said that a nominal fee should be charged for entering the event while the entrants would  have to pay separately for food items at stalls and other purchases made by them.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the administration has chalked out the setting up of over 300 stalls in the event. These stalls would serve traditional food from across the country as well as the artistic and other goods prepared by the artisans.

Besides, renowned Bollywood and Punjabi singers would  perform daily in the evening to mesmerize the audience. Similarly, the administration is also considering the variety of cultural items to be included in the event for entertainment purposes. 

The shows like standup comedy would also be considered as to make the part of the event to explore the hidden talent of the local youth, she added. Producer and Director Bunty Bains was also present there.
