Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s noble gesture to arrange pilgrimage for the people of Punjab proved boon for the people who had an ardent desire to go on pilgrimage but could not go due to one or another compulsion, said MLA Kulwant Singh Mohali, here on Tuesday. He was flagging off the fifth batch of pilgrims from the SAS Nagar district under the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra.

The fifth batch of pilgrims left for the pilgrimage of Salasar Dham- KhatuShyam Dham. He said that Punjab’s Bhagwant Mann Government honours the religious sentiments of all the people and the aim of Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra is to provide equal opportunities to all the people to visit their holy places. He said that the AC buses have been provided by the Punjab Government.

The boarding and lodging are totally borne by the state. Every pilgrim has been given a separate kit comprised of a blanket, a bed sheet and a pillow besides toiletry kits. He extended best wishes to the pilgrims for having a smooth pilgrimage. He said that night halting has been arranged at Salasar.

He said that to cope with medical emergencies special arrangements have been made in coordination with the Health Department Punjab. SDM Mohali Chandrajyoti Singb added that the district administration is taking care of all the arrangements so that the pilgrims do not face any problems during the travelling.

The Pilgrims while boarding the bus expressed gratitude to the Punjab Chief Minister and said that the efforts made by the Punjab Government to help them to pay obeisance at their religious places are worth emulating and they always have praise for the Government for this.
