MLA Kulwant Singh today kickstarted the construction of the library to be built at village Manakpur Kallar by performing the groundbreaking ceremony. He said that the Bhagwant Singh Mann government is setting up libraries in Punjab to light the lamp of knowledge aimed at encouraging aesthetic and intelligent sense in children and youth by providing them with quality literature and books.
He said that libraries are capable of changing our thinking because reading books gives us the power to reason and to understand good and bad. Further, books and literature broaden our horizons by providing us with rich information about our region as well as other civilizations, cultures and countries.
MLA Kulwant Singh further said that out of 12 libraries to be built in District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 6 are being built in Mohali (SAS Nagar) Constituency, the construction of which will cost Rs 30 lakh each. He said that these libraries will provide a peaceful environment and will also be equipped with all the required facilities.
He said that as the first instalment of library construction, 10 lakh rupees have been transferred online to the account of the village panchayat. He said that books, magazines, newspapers and other reading materials will be made available in this library so that the youth can increase their knowledge by holding a book in their hands instead of falling into drugs and wrong associations and the elderly can spend their leisure time in the library in a better way.
On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party leader Kuldeep Singh Samana, Avtar Singh Mauli, Harpal Singh Channa, Harmesh Singh Kumbhara, Dr Kuldeep Singh, Avtar Singh Jhampur, Ravinder Singh Block President, Mukhtiar Singh Block President, Jagdish Singh Jaggi, Tehil Singh, Rajveer Singh Panch and Gurtej Singh were also present.

ਐਮ ਐਲ ਏ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਾਣਕਪੁਰ ਕਲਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਬਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਟੱਕ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਬਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ’ਚ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਯਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਸੁਹਜਾਤਮਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੋਚ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ’ਚ ਤਰਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਭਲੇ-ਬੁਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿੱਤੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਦੂਸਰੀਆਂ ਸਭਿਆਤਾਵਾਂ, ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੋਚ ਦੇ ਦਾਇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰ ’ਚ ਬਣਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ 12 ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀਆਂ ’ਚੋਂ 6 ਮੋਹਾਲੀ (ਐਸ ਏ ਐਸ ਨਗਰ) ਹਲਕੇ ’ਚ ਬਣ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ’ਤੇ 30 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਆਏਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਲੈੱਸ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਤ ਵਜੋਂ 10 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਦੇ ਖਾਤੇ ’ਚ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਲਾਈਬਰੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ, ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ, ਅਖਬਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਯੋਗ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਤਬਕਾ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਲਤ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਣ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਹੀ ਬਿਤਾ ਸਕਣ।
ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਰ-ਦੀਵਾਰੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ 200 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਰ ਦੀਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਣਨੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ 8 ਮੁਹੱਲਾ ਕਲੀਨਿਕ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨੇਟਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂਈਂ ਵੀ ਮੁਹੱਲਾ ਕਲੀਨਿਕ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ 300 ਯੂਨਿਟ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੇਦ-ਭਾਵ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਰੰਟੀਆਂ ਲਗਭਗ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਾਣਕਪੁਰ ਕਲਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਪਰੰਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਮਾਣਾ, ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੌਲੀ, ਹਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨਾ, ਹਰਮੇਸ਼ ਹਰਮੇਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੁੰਭੜਾ, ਮਿੱਠੂ ਸਰਪੰਚ, ਗੱਬਰ ਮੌਲੀ, ਗੱਬਰ ਮੌਲੀ, ਡਾਕਟਰ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਝਾਂਮਪੁਰ, ਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਲਾਕ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ, ਮੁਖਤਿਆਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਲਾਕ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ, ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੱਗੀ, ਟਹਿਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਰਾਜਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਚ, ਗੁਰਤੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
