The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, an initiative to spread awareness about the flagship schemes of the Government, reached Panchayat Madoon Block Rajpura, District Samba today. The yatra was joined by Commissioner Food and Drug Administration, Shakeel ul Rehman Rather.
Rather was accorded a rousing welcome from the DDC members, PRIs, and locals of the area. He inspected the stalls set up by different departments to showcase their achievements and services. The event started with the national anthem, followed by a cultural programme by the students of various government schools.
The Prime Minister's message was played through the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) van, and the Sankalp pledge was taken by all the participants.The yatra also featured a segment called 'Meri Kahani Meri Zubani', where the beneficiaries of various schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), UMEED, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PM MVY), etc. shared their success stories and experiences.
A documentary screening of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was also held to educate the citizens about the various flagship schemes and their benefits. A quiz on the schemes was conducted, and the winners were felicitated with certificates .
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of the beneficiaries and the exceptional sports persons of the area. Rather handed over the Abhinandan Patra to Paani Samiti under the Jal Jeevan Mission . He also congratulated the sports persons who have brought laurels to the district and the state in various competitions.
Speaking on the occasion, Rather, in his address, expressed his happiness to be a part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and to have the opportunity to meet the locals. He thanked all the officials, staff, and citizens for their cooperation and participation in the event.
SDM Ghagwal Sunaina Saini, DDC Member Asha Rani, BDC Chairman Radhe Shayam,Tehsildar Rajpura Subhash, BDO Rajpura Shivani Deonia, Sarpanch Ram Dhan besides other officers of District Administration Samba were present on the occasion.
