To cover maximum number of beneficiaries of several Central Government schemes by reaching to them directly, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has been flagged off in Tarn Taran today from Naushehra Pannun. Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar flagged of a fleet of five vans equipped with LED showcasing small movies on various central government schemes and information material. These vans would cover all villages of the district as per schedule.

He said the main purpose of the VBSY is to reach out to the last man to provide her/him on the spot benefits of various central government schemes like Ujjwala Yojna, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna etc as per the eligibility. He said it is the duty of every public servant involved in this Yatra to apprise maximum people about various flagship schemes of the central government so that living standards of the beneficiaries may change for their betterment.

Field Publicity Officer of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Rajesh Bali said that Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra (VBSY) is presently moving in many districts of Punjab including Tarn Taran, under which Vans comprising information material, videos etc are making people aware of various central government schemes through which eligibles can take various benefits at their doorstep.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra was formally launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15 from Jharkhand. This nationwide programme is aimed at reaching out to citizens who are eligible for various central schemes but have not benefitted so far.
