District and Sessions Judge Patiala inspected Jails of Patiala District

Ms Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District and Sessions Judge cum Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala alongwith Ms Manni Arora, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala inspected Central Jail, Patiala, New District Jail, Nabha and Open Air Jail, Nabha. During the visits, Ms Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District and Sessions Judge interacted with the jails inmates regarding their grievances/problems being faced by them. Jail Superintendent, other officers and staff of the jails were instructed to ensure timely redressal of their grievances/problems.

In New District Jail, Nabha, certificates have been distributed by Ld. District and Sessions Judge, Patiala among 32 jail inmates who have completed their Computer Training Course and they were also given awards after taking test of their computer skill.Besides, Computer Training Course for female jail inmates has also been started in New District Jail, Nabha in collaboration with Play Ways Senior Secondary School, Patiala.

Apart from this, legal awareness programmes were also held by Ms Manni Arora, CJM cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala with the jail inmates of Central Jail, Patiala,  New District Jail, Nabha and Open Air Jail, Nabha. During these programmes, jail inmates were made aware about plea bargaining, Free legal aid and persons who are entitled for getting free legal aid. On this occasion, Ms Manni Arora told that Meditation/Yoga camps and medical camps for jail inmates are also organized in District Patiala jails by District Legal Services Authority, Patiala.
