Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today exhorted the people to follow the path and ideals shown by Bhagwan Valmiki Ji, who had preached the message of equality and universal brotherhood, to carve out an egalitarian society.
Accompanied by Chief Editor of Hind Samachar Group of Newspapers Mr. Vijay Chopra, MLAs Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Daljit Singh Grewal, Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, National Director Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj Naresh Dhingan, the Minister while greeting the people during a state level event here today, said that Bhagwan Valmiki Ji Maharaj was first poet or the Adi Kavi of the world who by his immortal and masterpiece composition the “Ramayana” propagated the message of victory of good over evil.
He also said that great epic has from centuries taught the way of life to the people and has been a lighthouse of the ethical and moral living for the people which were far more relevant in the present materialistic society. Mr. Cheema said that teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji Maharaj lays stress on the equality in the society along with the ethics of what an ideal man, ideal ruler and ideal people should follow for the formation of an ideal state or society.
Lauding the efforts made by Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj to organize this mega event, the Minister said that such endeavors not only help in disseminating the philosophy of Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji for carving out a harmonious society but also act as a lighthouse to guide the destiny of our youth through the great ethical and moral values preached by him.
He congratulated the organizers for holding this mega event every year to perpetuate the glorious legacy of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji.Meanwhile, he stressed the significance of education in the society and called upon people to ensure higher education for their children so as to put them on high growth trajectory. He stated that only education can bring prosperity and happiness in the society, hence it was our moral duty to follow the message of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar for getting our children good education.
