SKUAST-J celebrated World Egg Day, under guidance of Prof. B.N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, Department of Livestock Farm Complex (LFC), Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Jammu, RS Pura has lined up different events viz. quiz competitions, engg recipes, engg craft, painting, etc to mark the World Egg Day-2023 with the theme “Enggs for Healthy Future” on Friday. 

More than 70 participants including students and officers attended the function. Professor B.N. Tripathi was the chief guest and highlighted the need for improving the production potential of backyard birds and stressed upon the use of quality vaccines and judicious use of antimicrobials in the poultry sector. He advocated for the promotion of eggs and advised to look for alternatives of conventional feed ingredients.

Prof. M.S. Bhadwal, Dean, FVSc & AH formally welcomed the gathering and discussed the scenario of eggs in J&K and India. Suchita Sharma, CEO, SV Pharma, guest of honor shared her success journey and motivated the budding vets to be poultry entrepreneurs. Prof. Sunil Sharma, Head, LPT, Dr. Nazam Khan, Dr Vikas Mahajan and Dr. Suraj Amrutkar deliberated lectures on nutritional significance of eggs. At the outset, the price distribution ceremony was carried out by the Vice Chancellor, Director Research, SKUAST-J, Dean, FVSc & AH.
