A renowned academician and researcher Dr. Neeraj Kaushik, Head and Associate Professor, Department of Business Management, NIT Kurukshetra graced the premises of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh as a resource person at a two-day workshop titled, “Research Methodology: A Hands-on Workshop” organized by the Centre of Management and Humanities on 6-7 October 2023.The workshop aims to develop an understanding of the research methodology, tools, and techniques including the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) toolsto conduct impactful research.

Dr. Anju Singla, Head CMH, and convener of this workshop welcomed the chief guest Dr. Baldev Setia, Director, PEC; the worthy resource person Dr. Neeraj Kaushik; Heads of Other Departments, faculty members, Ph.D. scholars,and M.Tech students for the workshop.Head, CMH shared how research forms the bedrock for successful research endeavours. She encouraged all participants to actively ask questions, and engage with the resource person on this path of exploration and learning.

Dr. Setia, Director, PECaddressed the gathering and shared the aptness of Dr. Kaushik as the subject matter expert considering hisachievements and plethora of knowledgein the field of research. He focused on the importance of building meaningfulrelationshipswith one’s mentors which can add great value to the research journey.Being an avid researcher, Dr. Setia appreciated the role of research in diverse areas.

Dr. Kaushik, the keynote speaker, shared his journey as a researcher and illustrated through stories the significance of research in academic and corporate areas and the pivotal role it plays in the advancement of knowledge and the betterment of society. He shared some critical tools to strengthen the research output and network like Research rabbit, Inciteful, Scispace, Scholarcy, etc.

Through rigorous and methodical research, new insights can be uncovered, complex problems solved and innovations be driven. The current workshop has been carefully crafted to give the participants the tools and knowledge required to guide them through various research methodologies, data collection techniques, and analytical approaches. It will equip them with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their respective fields of study.

Head, CMH along with the coordinators of the workshop Dr. Shivani Gupta and Dr. Garima Saini and other faculty members of CMH, expressed their deepest gratitude to the speaker and congratulated him for delivering a meaningful and successful workshop.
