Director Horticulture conducts extensive visit of Anantnag; participates in awareness programmes

The Director Horticulture Kashmir, G R Mir today conducted an extensive visit of District Anantnag and participated in two awareness programmes held at departmental nursery Bijbehara and Sirhama in Srigufwara zone.The twin programmes were attended by a large number of growers.

Director Horticulture in his address emphasized upon growers to come forward to avail the benefits available with the department under various schemes.Scientists of SKAUST-K gave a detailed account on management of different diseases, pests, leaf minor etc.

Suggestions from farmers were encouraged for redressal of various issues regarding implementation of different schemes prevalent in the department.During the visit, Director was accompanied by Joint Director Horticulture Kashmir, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, a team of scientists of SKAUST-K, Chief Horticulture Officer Anantnag, senior technical officer, DLSMS Anantnag, DLSMS Pulwama, Horticulture Development Officers and officials of the department.
