One Thousand Words photo exhibition mesmerises visitors

Closing ceremony witnessed people from all walks of life and appreciated photojournalists for their work

Two-day photo exhibition, One Thousand words, has evoked massive response. The exhibition started on August 19 in a bid to give a rare peep into city's redimension identity that covered all the aspects of life. 

People from different walks of life visited the exhibition in last two days. There were students, traders, academicians, politicians, businesman and others.  It was literally a visual tour to our city and sorroundings.

The closing ceremony was graced by MLA Daljit Singh Grewal, Kulwant Singh Sidhu, District Planning Board chairman Sharanpal Singh Makkar, Chairman Oswal Group and Founder Vardhman Amrante Adish Oswal who was chief guest for the closing ceremony, Deputy Comissioner of Police Saumya Mishra, ADCP Shubham Aggarwal, Deputy director of Income tax Vikas Khinchar, besides several other prominent personalities from all spheres of the society.

More than 24 photojournalists were honoured by the dignitaries and appreciated their work. MLA Daljit Singh Grewal and Kulwant Singh Sidhu appreciated the photojournalists and motivated them to contribute to Exhibition every year. Both MLA Sidhu and MLA Grewal donated Rs 31,000 each their own pocket to the association. 

They also appreciated the CSR activities organised by the photo journalist association and honoured all the photojournalists with momentos. Deputy Comissioner of Police Saumya Mishra, recalled her school memories how the 60 students in batch were give the assignment to write a photo essay witnessing the photographs and all students have different view for the same pic. 

She said photojournalists should continue to depict the positive work of the society through their lens so world at large can know about happening in their surroundings. President of the Ludhiana Photojournalist Association Ashwani Dhiman said  the exhibition featured an array of photographs captured by the skilled photographers of the association who are working in different media houses. 

From bustling marketplaces to serene landscapes, and from candid portraits to abstract compositions, the exhibition aimed to present the city's multifaceted essence through the lenses of its talented artists. Adish Oswal, Chairman, Oswal Group said , " "The 8th exhibition organized by the Ludhiana Photojournalists Association truly captures the essence and beauty of our vibrant city. 

The photographs showcased are a testament to the talent and dedication of the local photographers, who have skillfully captured the spirit, culture, and diversity of Ludhiana. This exhibition offers a visual narrative that not only celebrates our city's rich heritage but also provides a unique perspective on the ever-changing landscape of Ludhiana. 

It is a must-visit for anyone who wishes to experience the essence of our beloved city through the lens of these talented photojournalists." Rakhi Oswal,Director, Edrio said,  "The Ludhiana Photojournalists Association's 8th exhibition stands as a remarkable tribute to the power of storytelling through the medium of photography. 

Each photograph on display is a powerful narrative that speaks volumes about the untold stories and unique moments that make up the fabric of Ludhiana. The exhibition seamlessly captures the emotions, struggles, and triumphs of our city's residents, providing a deeper understanding of their lives and experiences. 

It is through the lens of these talented photographers that we are able to see Ludhiana in an entirely new light, arousing a sense of pride and admiration for our city's diverse and vibrant culture."

Tribute to three Photo Journalists

The photojournalists and all the visitors paid tribute to the three photo journalists who sacrificed their life in line of the duty. The memories of the work and life of  Aditya Jaitely, Ravi Kanojia and Neel Kamal Sonu who were the real heroes  in  life for helping others and we're known in the society for their cretaivity and photography skills were remembered. 

All these three photo journalists who had served for main stream media for years and we're passionate about their work were paid tribute and their story was told to every visitor and their families were honoured.
