To promote new academic partnership, the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda in collaboration with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda has started MBA- Hospital Administration and Pharm.  D from the current Academic Session (2023-24) to meet the challenges in the healthcare and management of hospitals.

Simultaneously *MRSPTU has signed MOU with Wayne State University (WSU) universities for their 3 plus 1 and 3 plus 2 Engineering graduation Program for the first time in India by any govt organisation. In this Engineering program students will be finishing their last year of engineering at US University with 50 percent scholarship and a reputed US degree which will enable them for lucrative employment opportunities worldwide, briefed VC.

While addressing a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club, MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu accompanying with President  Punjab Unaided Colleges Aassociation and Chairman Aryans Group Dr Anshu Kataria  said the programme were aimed to initiate joint need based academic, scientific and research programmes in collaboration between both the institutes in the broad area of Medical Sciences, Hospital Administration, Analytics, Engineering and Technology.       

Giving details Prof. Sidhu said MBA Hospital Administration will be a two year (Four semesters) programme. While the Doctor of pharmacy (Pharm. D) is a 6 years programme and candidates will have five years of academic study and one year of internship during the program. Both the programmes will run at University Campus, while   the students will gain hands on clinical training and experience at AIIMS.

A first-of-its-kind initiatives were conceptualized after marathon meetings of experts of both the institutes. MBA- Hospital Administration is being started in view of the increasing trend of Super Speciality hospitals globally, which has stimulated the increase in demand for experts in Hospital Administration.

After completing Pharm D candidate can join Health Care team (Hospital), Pharmaceutical Industry, Clinical Research Organization, Insurance Companies or Research & Development. Beside the University also launched Para-medical courses.

Prof. Sidhu was accompanied by Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) President and Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr. Anshu Kataria, MRSPTU, Dean Consultancy and Industry Linkage, Dr. Manjeet Bansal, Director Public Relations, Sh. Harjinder Singh Sidhu, Director Training and Placement, Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu.

Newly Introduced Courses (2023-24): B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology), B.Sc. Radio Medical Imaging Technology, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Science, PG Diploma in Pharmacovigilance, PG Diploma in Intellectual Properties Rights, Integrated Dual Degree BFA-MFA (Applied Arts), MA (Fine Arts), Master of Fine Arts (Painting), Bachelor of Management Studies (Hotel Management & Catering Technology), B.Sc. (Hons.) Forensic Science, B. Tech. Biomedical Engineering and B. Tech. Agricultural Engineering.
