NABARD, Jammu and Kashmir Regional Office, celebrated the 42nd Foundation Day here today.Kamal Patnaik, Regional Director, RBI, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Along with the staff members of NABARD, Jammu and Kashmir Regional Office, delegates from Banks and line departments also attended the function.

In his welcome address, Bhallamudi Sridhar, CGM, Jammu and Kashmir Regional Office highlighted the key areas of NABARD such as infrastructure financing, support for KCC, Nurturing of Co-operatives and RRBs through recapitalization, computerization of co-operatives,  e-commerce portal such as Open Network for Digital Commerce(ONDC) for sale of products, Supporting SHGs, FPOs, etc.

He focussed on the need to become relevant with the ever-changing rural ecosystem.He further encouraged all the stakeholders to work together as an entity and understand the requirement of each other to address the issues of Rural India.

Kamal Patnaik, Regional Director, RBI, Jammu, in his address, congratulated NABARD on completing 41 years of existence and inspiring everyone to undertake research-driven and data-driven interventions to make rural India strong and productive. 

He further apprised the audience regarding the establishment of a robust framework for data backed decision making process to map the credit potential, informed credit–related decisions and defining the thresholds for credit approval based on the model predictions.This was followed by a presentation on NABARD’s initiative in UT of J&K and Ladakh.
