A Pak-administered-Kashmir resident, who had come across the LoC along with his wife to meet his relatives in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir earlier in last month, has died of heart attack on this side on Saturday.Seventy years old Shakir-ud-Din son of Raj Mohammad of New Kashmir Colony Kotli, who had migrated to PaK in 1965, crossed the LoC on October 6 last month via Chakan-Da-Baghon a permit to visit relatives in Poonch, a senior district administration official told GNS.Shakir had come to Kereei village of Gurtha in Mendhar to celebrate the upcoming eid-ul-fitter with his brother.

While meeting relatives and friends since June 6, early today morning he had complained of chest pain and had been admitted to the district hospital where he breathed his last.Block Medical Officer at Sub-district Hospital Mendhar confirmed the death and attributed the cause of death as cardiac arrest.District authorities sent his body back to PaK over the Chakan-da-Bagh crossing in Poonch after legal formalities.Meanwhile, the wife of Shakir-Ud-Din, Shameema who hails from Pakistan while termed the death as unfortunate as she claimed that her husband promised her to returned back after eid.“This is very unfortunate as I am returning along with my husband’s body”, Shameema told GNS.She also lauded the role of people and the district administration while handling the situation.
