Skill Development Cell and IQAC of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women Gandhinagar, organized One Day workshop on NSQF compliant courses vis a vis NEP-2020 in collaboration with G.K Educational Trust, here today.  

A total of 501 students participated in the workshop.Ramesh Chander, Additional District Development Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest of the event. The Programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a bouquet presentation to the chief guest.

The Principal, Prof. Minu Mahajan presented the welcome address and encouraged students to come forward for skill oriented courses which the college organizes from time to time.Dr Renu Sharma coordinated the proceedings of the event.

In Technical session-I, resource persons including Dr. Shahid Mushtaq from Central University Jammu, Dr Jagjeet Singh from GGM Science College and Dr Jaya Bhasin from Central University of Jammu gave a detailed insight into the importance of Vocational Education and NSQF framework and its inclusion in New Education policy.

They also discussed implementation of NSQF in higher education. In the second session chairman G K Educational Trust, Sh. Gourav Khajuria and  Dr Anju Koul, Skill Coordinator Of the College interacted with students and motivated them to come forward and join such job oriented courses. 

They further reiterated that they will coordinate under the guidance of esteemed Principal in organizing NSDC certified, job oriented courses in future for students of the college. In his address, the Chief Guest apprised the students about the importance of such courses in creating a skilled workforce that will be key to the development of the Nation.

In valedictory session, certificates were presented to 25 ST students who successfully completed ‘Soft skills and Personality Development” course organized by Skill Development cell of College in collaboration with Central University of Jammu, under Tribal Youth Engagement Programme Phase-I.

Prof. Minu Mahajan congratulated the advisory committee members Dr. Anuradha Gandotra, Prof. Mamta Gupta and Organising secretary  Dr. Anju Koul (skill coordinator) and other committee members including Prof. Rohit Gupta, Dr. Monika Hans, Prof. Rashmi Kumari, Dr. Renu Sharma, Prof. Meenakshi Sharma for successfully coordinating the event.
