Commerce Department of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev College for Women Gandhinagar today celebrated Commerce Raising Day by releasing its maiden Newsletter 'VANIJAYA' and the hosting of an engaging alumni meet.

The momentous occasion marked a significant milestone for the department, highlighting its dedication to foster excellence in commerce education and cultivating strong connections with its alumni network.

The Commerce Department, established in the college in the year 2013, has shown an upward trend of its growth chart during its journey of 10 years. In conjunction with Commerce Raising Day, the Department unveiled its maiden Newsletter.

The initiative is in line with the Department's commitment to academic excellence, holistic education and the overall development of the stakeholders. As a testament to the enduring relationships forged with esteemed alumni, the Commerce Department hosted an exciting alumni meet. 

The event aimed to foster a sense of camaraderie, create a platform for professional collaboration and strengthen the bond between the alumni and the commerce department.Head of the Department, Prof. Mamta Gupta expressed her enthusiasm for the event saying, "Commerce Raising Day” is a significant occasion for us to reflect on our achievements and celebrate our collective growth. 

The release of our Newsletter and the alumni meet are essential components of our efforts to engage with our stakeholders and create a thriving community of commerce professionals. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest of the day, Dr. Satinder Singh, appreciated the effort of the commerce department for organizing this three in one celebration day. 

He applauded the hard work of the students in bringing up the maiden issue of the newsletter of the department 'VANIJAYA'. He also advised the alumni to stay more connected with their juniors and establish this healthy practice of hand holding. 

Dr. Sudhanshu Sharma, the guest of honor, shared with the students that the mool mantra of success is paying respect to teachers and elders. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college, congratulated the H.O.D., Commerce and her team of faculty, staff and students for the wonderful celebration. 

She also remembered and expressed her gratitude to Dr. Kiran Bakshi for her hard efforts for starting Commerce as a full-fledged programme in the college.The whole program was planned and conducted under the supervision of Dr. Deepti Abrol. Prof. Rashmi ensured discipline during the event.  

It is to put on record that the contribution, effort and enthusiasm of the students of the Commerce Department was exemplary. The program was conducted by Ms. Sanvi Gupta, Ms. Gurpreet Kour and Ms. Divya Gupta and in the end Prof. Mamta Kundal presented the formal vote of thanks
