The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is committed to making life easier for every section of the state by providing good administration and enhanced basic facilities. To fulfill this purpose, Minister for Local Government Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar stated that, as per Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's instructions, a meeting was held on Monday at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh, with the representatives of Surya Enclave Welfare Society, Jalandhar. Jalandhar Improvement Trust Chairman, Professor Jagatar Singh Sanghera, was also present during the meeting.

During the meeting with the Cabinet Minister, the representatives of Surya Enclave in Jalandhar informed the Minister about the lack of basic facilities in their daily lives. They mentioned that in 2003, 170 acres of land were acquired for the development of a new colony, and the booking for the same was initiated by the 'Jalandhar Improvement Trust.'

The society's representatives further stated that the Jalandhar Improvement Trust had promised to provide ultra modern facilities such as a community center, green park, fire station, piped gas (LPG) supply and a site for a marriage palace, but these facilities have not been provided so far.

After listening to the problems faced by the representatives of Surya Enclave Welfare Society, Minister for Local Government Dr. Nijjar assured them that appropriate action would be taken soon to address their legitimate demands.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary of Local Government, Special Secretary of Finance, officials from Jalandhar Improvement Trust, and representatives of Surya Enclave Welfare Society were present in the meeting
