Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur today organized poster making, Slogan writing competition, Pledge taking ceremony followed by a rally on the theme “Tobacco free educational institutions and society" under the banner G20.The whole event was conducted under the able guidance of Principal of the College, Prof. Hans Raj.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the college stressed on students to refrain from the use of all tobacco and associated products (primarily cigarettes, e-cigarettes and chew) and said there was total ban on sale of all tobacco-related products and merchandise in the campus vicinity. He further asked to remove all tobacco-industry advertising promotions and marketing from campus literature, if any.

A rally was also flagged off by the Principal of the college from college premises which passed through Neeli Nallah Bazaar and culminated back in the campus.  The students were holding the placards depicting the harmful effects of using tobacco and were also raising the slogans against Tobacco use.

Prof. Shaista Yasmeen was the convener of the programme. The organizers of the event were Dr.Radha Rani, Prof. Swati Dutt and Dr.Ranjeeta Langeh. Others who present were  Shalu Jamoria, Imtiyaz Ahmed Bhatti,  Riya Khajuria, Manisha Kanchru,Pratiba Heer and Parul Chibber.
