The month-long Mintu Memorial Cricket Tournament, organised by social worker Piyush at Bajalta Panchayat, concluded on Sunday with Choudhary Warriors defeating KFK by 30 runs in an exciting final. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 40 teams from different parts of the region, providing a platform for young cricketers to showcase their talent while promoting sportsmanship and community spirit.

MLA Jammu East Constituency Yudhvir Sethi, who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, congratulated the organisers and participating teams for making the tournament a grand success. Addressing the gathering, he said, "Sports play a vital role in channelising the energy of youth in a positive direction.

Such tournaments not only promote physical fitness and discipline but also help identify and nurture sporting talent at the grassroots level. I congratulate the organisers for keeping the memory of Mantoo alive through this meaningful initiative." Sethi also appreciated the large turnout of spectators and the efforts of volunteers who ensured the smooth conduct of the tournament.

He assured continued support for sports activities and the development of sporting infrastructure in the area. The thrilling final saw Choudhary Warriors put up an impressive all-round performance to outclass KFK by 30 runs and lift the championship trophy.

Players from both teams displayed excellent cricketing skills, making the final an entertaining contest for the spectators. The organisers honoured the chief guest and other distinguished guests with mementoes, while trophies and prizes were presented to the winning and runner-up teams, as well as outstanding performers of the tournament.

Among those present on the occasion were Bansi Lal Sharma, Baldev Raj Sharma, Varinder Sharma, Madan Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Mohan Lal Verma, Ajay Sharma, Inderveer Singh, Amit Sharma, Dhruv Sethi, and several other prominent citizens and sports enthusiasts who encouraged the participating teams and appreciated the organisers for successfully conducting the month-long tournament. 

Renowned commentator Raj Kumar kept the spectators engaged throughout the final with his lively and insightful commentary, adding excitement and enthusiasm to the championship clash. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the organisers, players, volunteers and local residents whose support ensured the successful completion of the month-long sporting extravaganza.
